Oct 3rd. Before sleep thoughts. Deepin'

I spent couple more hours at my laptop before going to sleep. It was October 3rd already. Travelling was planned on this day. And what a coincidence! On my friend's page I found a video of impressive Georgian leader's speech.

I feel like global changes breath in my back. European Summit is coming, and whether Ukraine will be included in Association or not my country is going to face obstacles. If we join EU soon, many people are going to suffer. Our economy is not ready yet. Maybe businesses will benefit from it but not usual citizens. It’s interesting that when I spoke to a Lithuanian woman from Klaipeda she was frustrated.

“Life didn’t change much,” 

she said. “Our country just made more debts.”

Even more, I believe that if Ukraine could state its interests strongly and wasn’t economically dependent (and it is possible), we could still be good partners with European States but not dump its economy. I just don’t want to imagine the number of millions that would immediately migrate to other countries of EU seeking for work there and leaving Ukraine for those who simply uses its resources or doesn’t know how to work at all.

Recently Ukrainian agro holding company and Chinese delegation have conducted a meeting about selling 3 million hectares of Ukrainian land to China. Why?! We could make a partnership and raise crops for them not selling valuable land that our ancestors fought for centuries. Sometimes I just get sad about our officials...

Oct 2nd. Delicious conversation

Many people asked me why I was going to Georgia. Indeed, if not the International Session, I didn't have an answer. Though, there is one person at LCC that inspired and encouraged me to go. 

Anano Tatulashvili from Tbilisi who is curretly a freshman described her country in colors and suggested places to visit.
Though she doesn't study at home, she said that Georgia is number one for her but she wants to travel around the world first. Anano's been to Turkey twice and liked sights. Later I also will find similiraties between these neighboring countries.

"Most my friends went all around Europe and to the U.S. I think that studying is cool," she told me and added: "When young people "get out" of the country they realize that they want to come back. Most of them care about Georgia, they are patriots." She also shared my opinion that it is not easy just to go to America and live there because of different mentality. 

Then we spoke about 5-day war of 2008, discussed Saakashvili and just had a nice conversation which I didn't have for a while... I couldn't wait for this trip!

I had some goals as well. Get inspired too, folks!

The Beginning. Of October. Deepin'

I was thinking how I should start my blog on adventures in Georgia because apparently it wouldn’t be interesting to describe the flight and first sight, at least at the beginning. Moreover, adventures start when you just begin thinking, planning, fancying…

Oh well, my story starts with my wallet stolen. I strongly believe it’s a turning point because it was the last opportunity to say NO to 74th International Session of Awesome European Youth Parliament (AEYP) and to reject the possibilities that life could give me then. In fact, I am a different kind. I will GO till the end!

So I want to thank Schwarzkopf-Stiftung Junges Europa again for their generosity. Even though I have less money out of the grant that this organization gave to me, I except challenge and go to Georgia! Another question is why does it happen? A month ago I didn’t have financial sources even to pay for my tickets. I was looking hard for different scholarships online and finally I found one. Then there was hard time of transferring money… My nerves should have died by this time!

Though, stolen money in another country right before the departure to a place that I haven’t been before is even worse. Why now? Why not just cell phone? I can say that Universe has its reasons, and now I really appreciate the chance of going to another part of the world and meeting new wonderful people. Material things are only things and if I had opportunity to invest, I would invest in relations between others. Humans are social species and in the 21^st century it is even clearer that the whole humanity acts as one organism on Earth. If we do something bad to others, we hurt ourselves.
